The Courses

Marketing and Consumer Behaviour - 7,5 ECTS

The course introduces students to marketing and consumer behavior. Central in the course is the process and activities consumers engage in when acting on today´s markets e.g., selecting, purchasing, using, evaluating, and disposing products and services. At the core of consumer behavior is the study of how the world is influenced by the actions of marketers and the understanding of the wider role of consumers, consumption culture and consumerism in todays world.

Service Management and Marketing - 7,5 ECTS

The course introduces students to service management and marketing. The focus of the course concerns how firms can co-create value with their customers to provide unique customer experiences. In addition the course covers topics such as new service development, service quality, service recovery and the use of different market channels. The core of service is the interaction between customers, employees and the service scape and the different roles that both customers and employees can adopt.

Strategy and International Management - 7,5 ECTS

The starting point of the course is the development of a highly competitive and innovative global business environment and the advances made in the international management field. Much of this conceptual development revolves around formulating dynamic managerial solutions. Based on the classic international business management literature, and focusing on international expansion and the development of the MNC, the course will lead into later contributions including management in cluster contexts, transformation management and organisational evolution.

IT, Strategy, and Strategic IT - 7,5 ECTS

The course focuses on how IT can be understood and applied in organizations and its strategic importance and implications. Within the course the IT concept and its various contemporary expressions is evaluated and critically examined, so is IT related to change in organizations and different intertwined strategies. Governance of IT as a strategic concern, and resource in organizations is also addressed, as well as various stakeholders in relation to IT. The course also includes being able to understand both challenges and opportunities of IT in organizations.

Managing Organizational Change - 7,5 ECTS

The emergence of the information and knowledge society together with the rapidly changing global environment gave rise to the recognition that continuous learning and knowledge creation are some of the most competitive ways of responding to these challenges. More and more organisations are adopting principles and tools for learning and knowledge management as a main approach for organisational change. Hence, the course focuses on organisational change by examining the nature, key concepts and processes of learning and knowledge creation.

Enterprise Systems - 7,5 ECTS

Enterprise systems are integrated information systems packages, intended to cover all the administrative and managerial information needs in an organisation. The course takes its starting point in use and benefits of enterprise systems from the perspectives of different functions, such as sales, marketing, production, accounting and top management. Both operative (transactional) and directive use (management) are treated.

The enterprise systems life cycle is also treated, from evaluation and selection, modification and implementation, via use and improvement, to phase-out.

Additionally, an overview of actors and business models on the enterprise systems market is included.

How to apply

The application for spring semester 2017 will open in September with application deadline October 15. If you are selected by your home university please ask them to nominate you to international@ffk.liu.se. All nominated students will receive an email as soon as the application form opens.

Application Procedure

When you have been selected by your home university, the application procedure will be as follows:

1. Search for courses in the course list above. Please see under "Course information and timetable" in the left hand menu before you choose your courses. Note that full-time courses at Faculty of Arts and Sciences run during four (4) periods per semester. You can choose only one full-time course for each period.

2, Check the specific requirements for each course that you want to study and make sure that you are eligible for all courses that you select.

3, Fill out the application form on-line which will open in September. The application form includes personal data, academic background, choice of courses and the period of study for your stay at Linköping University.

4, Upload the required documents:

- Transcript of records of all university education

- Proof of English*

- List of ongoing courses

- Degree certificate if applicable

All documents need to be scanned into one pdf file.

5. If you want to apply for accommodation through Linköping University make sure to cross that box on the application form. Please note that you also need to apply and sign up with other landlords and check the notice boards. Linköping University cannot guarantee accommodation.

6. Submit the form. A print-out version of your application will open for your reference.

7. Deadline for Spring semester 17 is 15 October 2016, 23.59 o´clock (UTC+2h).

8. Information and admission documents will be send during November 2016.
