ECIU University for You

The challenge-based method provides learners and researchers with innovation skills and entrepreneurship attitude, as it puts together collaborative partnerships of different actors, with diverse background, coming from different sectors and disciplines (learners, researchers, industries, research & technology organizations, public authorities, academia’s staff). Different categories of people will then work together to identify European challenges and find relevant solutions, bringing to the discussion table different talents, backgrounds and expertise.

ECIU University for LEARNERS

The youth of tomorrow will grow up in a world where every product can increasingly be tailor-made and is available in a flexible way. Hence the future learners expect to be able to acquire knowledge and skills in the same way. Therefore, the ECIU University will provide:

  • Open learning environments inside and outside university characterized by co-creation and entrepreneurship.
  • Online and offline access to a network that enables acquiring applicable skills and knowledge.
  • Learning paths which are based on tailor made solutions, individual choices and flexibility.
  • A voice for learners to be an integral part designing their University for the future.

 

LEARNERS are welcomed in different ECIU University activities:

  • Participate at ECIU University Innovation Hubs where people gather from different disciplines and professions and share different knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Identify a challenge and join trans-national and trans-sectorial teams to work on that specific challenge.
  • Earn micro-credentials that allows to solve the specific challenge.
  • Deliver outputs: services, products, research questions, start-ups and spin-offs.
  • Participate in learners’ mobility as it is a core aspect of the challenge-based approach.
  • To be a part of ECIU University Student Board.

ECIU University for TEACHERS

This challenge-based method offered by ECIU University provides learners with innovation skills and entrepreneurship attitude, as it puts together collaborative partnerships. During the project, teachers at the ECIU University will look at the current educational offerings of its members and identify those courses that are most relevant for solving defined challenges.

Teachers at ECIU University Work can work at Innovation of Education Labs: physical and virtual spaces where teachers can innovate and implement their teaching, meet peers and share best practices. Innovation in education is fostered in-creation with learners, industry and public organizations.  

 

TEACHERS are welcomed in different ECIU University activities:

  • Join Innovation of Education Labs: work environments suited to create, understand and apply new teaching and learning models
  • Work on designing new micro-credentials
  • Participate at ECIU University Innovation Hubs where people gather from different disciplines and professions and share different knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Identify a challenge, form or join trans-national and trans-sectorial teams to work on that specific challenge.
  • Deliver outputs: services, products, research questions, start-ups and spin-offs.
  • Participate in treachers’ mobility as it is a core aspect of the challenge-based approach.

ECIU University for RESEARCHERS

The current landscape for research and innovation is moving towards more openness in partnerships, publications and data. Research outcomes and data are openly accessible as much as possible, thus driving international knowledge development to a higher pace.

The ECIU University will allow the knowledge creation and transfer to be performed in a collaborative setting with University and main facilitator. Learners, PhDs and researchers are enabled to connect to non-academic organisations and stakeholders by working jointly on societal challenges and obtaining inter-sectoral experience. Importantly, challenges and results provide for new research questions and potentially new business creation.

 RESEARCHERS are welcomed in different ECIU University activities:

  • Participate at ECIU University Innovation Hubs where people gather from different disciplines and professions and share different knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Work with different stakeholders to identify a challenge. Challenges have in fact the potential to enhance research collaboration, but also to provide for new research questions and inspiration for future research lines.
  • Form or join trans-national and trans-sectorial teams to work on that specific challenge.
  • Select challenges focusing on research, societal or innovation questions.
  • Participate in the educational activities and deliver outputs: services, products, research questions, start-ups and spin-offs.
  • Participate in researchers’ mobility as it is a core aspect of the challenge-based approach

ECIU University for COMPANIES and PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS

Companies and public institutions expect that the connections with universities tightens as the fundamental knowledge and inter-disciplinary approach are vital to innovation processes in organisations.

With the help of challenge-based approach, The ECIU University can:

  • design fast and flexible solutions for the industry
  • allow graduates and potential employees to be able to continuously learn, staying up to date and flexible
  • allow acquire specific skills on top if in-depth knowledge, for example entrepreneurship, intercultural competences and contributions to societal improvements.

  • Engage learners to identify a challenge that is relevant to the organization, market or society-at-large.

  • Select challenges focusing on market, societal or innovation questions.
  • Offer new, micro-credentials, created in collaboration with other stakeholders.
