The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) is looking for an experienced Manager Business Development to strengthen the strategic position of ECIU University towards business.
The Manager Business Development is a new central function within the ECIU management, based in Brussels, focusing on business development and strategic stakeholder management. First, you will engage with public and private stakeholders to establish trusted strategic relationships for ECIU Universities funding position. You will support the efforts in identifying and building strategic partnerships with industry, Ed Tech, learning organizations, think tanks and philanthropy to help drive the advancement of ECIU Universitys academic innovation platform.
Second, you will play a central role in further developing the business framework of the ECIU University ecosystem based on life-long learning, open collaboration in research and development and making social impact across Europe. You initiate the first commercial activities with strategic partners by co-creating an innovative and impactful business framework that meets the growing demand for skills and competence development.
To fulfil these tasks, you will manage business strategy and planning by further defining objectives and listening to stakeholders to understand requirements. The aim is to deliver sustainable revenues from new sources.
This role, therefore, requires a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and creative self-starter who can think big, establish successful long-lasting relationships, is diplomatically skilled and able to promote the business development of ECIU University.
Key role responsibilities
By 2030, ECIU University will be an agile, open agora at the European level for solving multi-disciplinary societal challenges, doing research and learning for life. We believe in creating an invigorating model of a true European University for the benefit of European society. Currently, over 300 people in 12 universities in 12 European countries (and a partner university in Mexico) work with a lot of dedication to accomplish this dream.
In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to co-create the business strategy of a new European University in its start-up phase and beyond. ECIU University is truly paving the way of reinventing higher education at the European level, a concept which is of great interest to many stakeholders.
You will become part of an international passionate team of people who believe in the creation of a new European university. As part of the central management, your focus will be dominantly external to create sustainable income flow from sources other than the typically known public funding streams of universities.
We offer a competitive remuneration package based on educational, qualification and work experience. The preferred location for this position is Brussels, Belgium. Start of the position as soon as possible.
