The Thematic Working Group for Teacher Education is a collaboration between teacher education providers in the ECIU, and the aim of the Working Group is to establish and develop a solid network for student and staff mobility, research, as well as collaboration with fields of practice and society at large. We believe that a stronger emphasis on social and public innovation within the consortium will better equip the ECIU to embrace future changes.
Goal #4 on the list of UN Sustainability Goals: Quality Education
The need for high quality education, research and collaborative activities within the area of education is recognized as one of the main areas for human development and is key in order to face and deal with the challenges of local and regional communities, as well as on a global scale. The teacher training programmes are devoted to providing good education, and thereby quality of life for all, as well as preparing generations for active citizenship in a world that is rapidly changing.
The WG has a coordinating group consisting of one representative from each of the participating universities which meets annually. The coordinating group is organising thematic workshops for a broader group of colleagues with shared interest and expertise.
