The ECIU is engaged in further activities, than those who can be categorised as projects
and thematic work groups.
Once every 2nd year, the ECIU awards a research prize to honour outstanding research results
and as well to honour a researcher who is capable of communication his or her research
results to a broader audience without previous knowledge of the subject area.
To ensure that information about the ECIU reaches its member institutions, a PR group has been
set up. This groups monitors the information work done at the ECIU Secretariat level, and ensures
that news of ECIU events is described in local newsletters.
Apart from securing information about ECIU activities as such, the ECIU Secretariat works hard at
ensuring that information about seminars, conferences or bit events within one member institution
is sent onwards to other ECIU institutions. Doing its own activities is only one of the priorities of
the ECIU, another is to secure synergy across the member institutions and to facilitate an exchange of
experience and knowledge through existing means such as local seminars and events.
Likewise the ECIU network can be used to e.g. send a request for partners for EU project applications
or postings of positions at Marie Curie Training Sites. The ECIU local coordinators assist in this process
and ensure that information is distributed within the member institutions.
